Festive fun brought in a record amount of cash during a fundraising Christmas Fair.

Parents, children and staff turned out for the annual event at Francis House Preparatory School in Tring.

A total of £2,200 was raised during Saturday (November 15) through activities for children, Christmas gift stalls, raffles and an auction.

Youngsters could try their luck at the guess the teacher in the baby photo competition, play the human fruit machine or make their own Christmas decorations.

Head teacher at the school in Aylesbury Road, Janice Hiley, said: "The fair raises money for all sorts of extras for the children that wouldn't normally be provided. The most recent purchase was a sound system for the hall."

She praised the work of Friends of Francis House, made up of pupil's parents, who organise the fair each year as well as other events. "They are a really dedicated team. There is always something going on throughout the school year and it is always something to benefit the children," she said.

It has not yet been decided how the money will be spent.
