Long haired Robert Jones will let pals cut his luscious locks to raise funds for the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.
The 29-year-old has agreed to let friend Danny Hill shave his head in any bizarre pattern he chooses and under sponsorship terms he must keep the style for eight days.
Mr Hill, of Cow Lane in Tring, has chosen to support the hospice because his pa
rents Valarie and Eric were cared for by the charity's nurses.
He said: "They both died of cancer and were looked after by the Iain Rennie nurses. It is a good charity, they do a lot of good work."
The engineer, who works for Heygates in the town, will have his long locks shaved at the Black Horse pub in Frogmore Street on Saturday, December 13 between 1pm and 2pm.
Mr Hill said: "I can't back out of it now because there is too much sponsorship.
"I haven't had my hair cut for about two years. I have been growing it and growing it. I have finally got it to a reasonable length and now I have agreed to have it cut off.
"I just hope we can raise as much money as possible because I'm going to lose my hair."
Sponsorship forms can be collected from many pubs in Tring including the Black Horse and The Robin Hood in Brook Street.
