After their County Cup exploits, Kings Langley Ladies were brought back down with a bump by a lively Garston side who showed no mercy to a makeshift defence.

Garston raced into a four-goal lead by half-time, but these were interspersed by Kings chances for Amy Earthrowl, Sophie Jackson, Sam Walters and Mary Hogan.

The second half saw the home side come out in a more determined fashion and, despite conceding two early goals, they provided more of a challenge.

Just after the hour mark, Abbie Tarsey made a superb block to help stem the tide and set up Kings for a strong finishing period.

On 76 minutes Nicole Barrett’s powerful header from Jackson’s corner went inches above the bar, and two minutes later Hogan pounced on a loose ball in the area to drive it low and hard in at the keepers near post as the game finished 8-1.
