Hemel Hempstead Town were given a reality check over the bank holiday weekend.

The Tudors drew 1-1 on Saturday against Chippenham Town at Vauxhall Road, and came away the losing side from their fixture at Farnborough on Monday.

Chippenham went ahead in what was a woeful game through Luke Gullick, who directed strike partner Sean Seavill's cross-come-shot beyond Ian Brown a minute before the break.

But Hemel secured themselves a point and maintained their three game unbeaten record when Yiadom Yeboah controversially equalised in the 65th minute.

The Ghanaian nodded in skipper Paul Edgeworth's corner much to the anger of the Chippenham players, who were convinced the defender had used his hand to divert the ball in.

Hemel were bound to slip up sooner or later in their quest for a prolonged unbeaten run, but it came in the most painful way against Farnborough on Monday.

With Farnborough going one up through Michael Charles, again just before half time, Hemel found it impossible to get the ball past in-form keeper Lyall Beazley.

Their best chance came with only a minute to go when the Tudors were awarded a penalty.

Jon Stevenson stepped up but put his spot kick too close to Beazley, who saved the day for Farnborough.

Hemel now sit in seventh place in the British Gas Business Football League, with seven points from four games.

The Tudors entertain Halesowen Town in a league game this Saturday before travelling to Corby Town next Wednesday.
