Swimming sensation David Godridge, from Hemel Hempstead, keeps getting better and better.
The 15-year-old took part in the East Region Winter Short Championships on the weekend of November 22 and 23 and came away with nine medals.

A Senior Championship competition, David wasn't expected to qualify for all the finals at the event in Norwich.

But on Saturday he took part in five heat races and made all five of the finals, with very little restbite between races.

His day couldn't have started much better as he clocked a new personal best time in the 200m freestyle, going on to take the bronze medal in the Senior Men's finals.

He also finished the first day of competition strongly, as the now shattered David finished 4th in the 100 freestyle final, with a time of 52 seconds.

He came just short of Mark Foster's Junior record, leaving the youngster slightly disappointed. But seeing as it was his 10th race of the day, it was too much to ask for him to match Olympian's record time.

On Sunday David took gold in both the Senior and Junior finals of the 200IM. He also managed to knock eight seconds off his 400m freestyle time and put in a qualifying time for the Nationals.

I was an incredible performance in an event in which he had only swum four times before.

Over the course of the weekend he swam a total of 14 races, winning five gold medals, a silver and a bronze in the Junior age group.
He took a gold and a bronze in the Seniors.

To cap off a wonder weekend for the talented youngster he was presented with a trophy for the fastest Junior in the 50m freestyle.
