Free taster sessions are being offered to juniors at Little Hay Golf Club.

The club is giving five to 15-year-olds the chance to get coaching from their own professional Michael Perry. All they have to do is turn up and pay for a set of golf balls for the session, costing £2.80.

The sessions take place between 12 and 1pm every Saturday, with a separate girls only course running every other Sunday from September 4.

Manager at the club George Reid said: "We really want to get girls into golf - at the moment there are 10 boys for every one girl.

"The sessions are really to give them a feel for the game and get them started.
"They get tuition and if they don't pick it up straight away they can come back as many times as they want."

Anybody interested in picking up a golf club for the first time can turn up at the club, which is located on Box Lane in Bovingdon, at 11.45am any Saturday - no booking is needed.

For more information call Little Hay on 01442 833 798.
