Following the death of soul star Isaac Hayes, Hemel Hempstead recording artists Charlotte Roel has made a web tribute to him revealing her meeting with the star six years ago.
She said: "I thought it would be nice to turn over my blog to make tribute to Isaac Hayes. It's a positive way of using it. I have uploaded the first part and will also put up an audio clip of Issac as well as more parts to the tribute."
The blog describes the first time Charlotte met Isaac Hayes on a rainy night in Copenhagen in 1997. She dined with him at a four star hotel.
At the time Isaac was romantically involved with her sister- in-law Audrey, who had set up the encounter because Isaac was in town appearing on the famous Roskilde Festival.
She said: "As we sat down to dinner, it quickly became apparent that Isaac had already made a few friends. As we approached desert he blushingly revealed that he had a special spot reserved just for him in the hotel's freezer. He had discovered and fallen in love with a delicious sorbet from a nearby restaurant and the hotel staff went out of their way to keep this treat in stock for him."
"After dinner, he gave me a hug because I conned him out of paying the bill when he went to the gents room."
Following the meeting, Issac promised support Charlotte's music production company Urban Precinc, which she set up in 2006, and posed with her and her husband, Floyd Adams, for a photograph.
