Musical children will be celebrating National Playday with karaoke at adventure playgrounds in Hemel Hempstead.
More than 60 pint-sized singers have already had a go at belting out their favourite songs at Bennetts End adventure playground yesterday.

Popular karaoke organiser Jewel Entertainments teamed up with the adventure playground to host the event from 11.30am to 3.30pm and will be doing more this week.

Julia Coots, of Jewel Entertainments, will take her mobile karaoke to Adeyfield adventure playground on Thursday, August 7 and Grovehill and Woodhall Farm adventure playground on Friday, August 8.

She said: "The children had lots of fun and many of them wanted to sing songs from High School Musical. One young boy sang Imagine by John Lennon and I spotted a few emerging talented singers who I hope one day will enjoy my karaoke nights in local pubs in the area."

National Playday, which was officially on Wednesday, August 6, has the catchline 'Give Us A Go' and aims to encourage children to try adventurous play and shake off the cotton wool culture of today.
